Caroline Flint, local town councillors and residents voice their concern about the loss of Tickhill's last bank HSBC

Residents and councillors came together to protest against plans to shut the last remaining bank branch in Tickhill.

MP Caroline Flint joined the group to highlight the threat to the HSBC branch in Tickhill that is due for closure on April 24.

Ms Flint said: “As soon as I was contacted by HSBC about the branch closure I contacted the bank to seek a meeting with the regional manager.

“This HSBC branch is the last in Tickhill. This is a big blow to local businesses and to residents.

“To tell loyal HSBC customers that they can go seven miles to Doncaster, or to Wickersley or Dinnington is an insult.”

“I hope HSBC will review this decision.”
