Back to the 90s for centre’s birthday bash

BOSSES at one of Doncaster’s biggest shopping centres turned back the clock to the 1990s to celebrate its birthday.

The Lakeside Village centre opened in August 1996, originally under the name The Yorkshire Outlet.

And staff and customers at the site on White Rose Way marked its 15th birthday with 90s-themed party games, competitions and lookalikes.

Activities included including face painting, balloon modelling and garden games such as giant Jenga.

Even Mr Blobby made a special appearance, and there were Eddie and Patsy lookalikes from 90s sitcom Absolutely Fabulous to fit in with the theme.

Centre manager Cheryl Sadler said: “We were extremely excited to celebrate our 15th birthday with our shoppers.

“Fifteen years is a proud landmark for the centre and we enjoyed a day of fun, festivities, and especially the lookalikes.

“The centre is such a focal point of the community and we’re all looking forward to the next 15 years!”
