A major energy provider is appealing for 30 new engineers to join the company’s expanding workforce.
Northern Powergrid is looking for recruits to join it’s graduate and technical staff trainee engineer programme and trainee engineer (foundation degree) programme.
These new places are part of a wider recruitment drive over the next eight years which will see more than 800 people start a new career in the region’s energy industry. Trainees could be based at Northern Powergrid’s office in Hellaby, Rotherham.
Lindi Hutchinson, the firm’s director of human resources, said: “Over the next eight years we will be delivering a £3 billion investment programme to improve the quality and reliability of the region’s electricity network.”
The two-year graduate and technical staff trainee engineer programme offers those with a degree in engineering or equivalent qualification further training to help progress their career. The trainee engineer (foundation degree) programme is a three-year programme which starts with a two-year degree in electrical power engineering. The third year is spent as a trainee engineer.
