Burger blaze at centre for disabled

A HALLOWEEN party for disabled people ended in a blaze after burgers caught fire last night.

Firefighters had to be called out to Doncaster Mencap in Wheatley when the food was left in a grill and then set the cooker alight.

Nobody was evacuated following the blaze which happened around 7.30pm at the Thorne Road centre for disabled people.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed nobody was hurt.
