Britain’s Got Talent Live returns this summer for its fourth national tour, stopping off at The Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield on Friday 24th June. Tickets priced £35 (booking fee may apply) are now sale.
The brand new series of Britain’s Got Talent kicked off last weekend, and the live show brings all the mayhem and magic of the hugely popular programme to your hometown and the chance to watch your favourite acts perform live on stage.
Expect another incredible mix of raw talent from the massively popular ITV1 show. With top live acts featuring unique talent from across the UK, Britain’s Got Talent The Live Tour 2011 is the perfect night out for all the family to enjoy. Last year’s phenomenal tour totaled 24 dazzling arena performances across the country and tickets are now on sale for this year’s hotly anticipated live shows.
Britain’s Got Talent has discovered a great deal of real talent over the past four years, and helped catapult a number of these acts into household names and worldwide superstars. None more so than 2009’s runner up, Grammy Award-nominated singing sensation Susan Boyle, who has become the biggest selling female artist of the decade, with more than 12 million sales worldwide. Alongside Susan as normal people transformed into stars, stand 2008 and 2009 winners, George Sampson and Diversity, who have helped transform the popularity of street dance across the world. Their appeal is wide reaching, with both appearing in smash hit movie Street Dance 3D. Since winning Britain’s Got Talent, George has gone on to star in the West End, release his own DVD and can now be seen on BBC One’s Waterloo Road. Diversity have headlined their own sold out UK tour, released their own DVD, become the most well known dance troupe in the UK, and their leader Ashley Banjo can be seen judging others on Sky 1’s Got To Dance.
Last year’s show also helped transform the lives of a gymnastics troupe from Hounslow. Their innovative, breathtaking and imaginative routines captured the hearts and votes of the judges and the audience, as Spelbound were crowned winners of Britain’s Got Talent 2010. They went on to headline the live tour and later perform at The Royal Variety Performance for the Queen. Spelbound were joined on the tour by street dance duo and runners up Twist and Pulse, who popped and locked around the country like their lives depended on it. All 10 finalists from last year joined the tour with highlights including determined singing pensioner Janey Cutler, dancer Tobias Mead with his unique and superb back-to-front dancing, and Tina with her unbelievably talented and adorable dancing dog Chandi.
Arguably the biggest entertainment phenomenon of last summer, Britain’s Got Talent captured the nation’s hearts and stunned TV viewers around the world. 19 million people tuned in to see Spelbound scoop the £100,000 prize money, win a place on The Royal Variety Performance and the coveted headline spot on the smash hit live UK tour.
