A MAN charged with stabbing his wife-to-be is due back in court this morning.

Lee Martin Rowlands, 36, has been charged with maliciously wounding fiancee Madi Moir and possessing cannabis just days before the couple were due to find out if they had won a £25,000 wedding competition.

The Free Press exclusively revealed last week that Miss Moir, who lives with Rowlands and her two young children in Hatfield Lane, Armthorpe, was being treated for stab wounds at Doncaster Royal Infirmary following last Wednesday’s incident.

She was discharged on Saturday - her 37th birthday.

Rowlands has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Doncaster Crown Court today.

Hallam FM, the radio station behind the wedding competition, said the couple were no longer finalists.
