Another man has been arrested in connection with yesterday’s alleged hit-and-run incident in Bentley High Street.
Two men, both aged 19, have been bailed by Doncaster police pending further enquiries into the collision in which a 19-year-old male pedestrian was in collision with a Ford Fiesta outside the Druids pub at 2.30am on Saturday.
The casualty, who suffered chest injuries, is still detained in the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield.
One of the 19-year-olds was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of agggravated vehicle taking, failing to stop, and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman this afternoon confirmed another man, also 19, has since been arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice. “We are still looking into the circumstances of this incident,” he added.
