The body of a man aged in his 40s was found off a country lane in Doncaster this morning.
Emergency services made the discovery in an area close to Narrow Lane in Bawtry at 7.15am.
A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police ruled out any foul play.
She said: “The body of a man believed to be in his 40s was found. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.”
The man has not yet been named by police.
A spokeswoman for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were called to the scene by police officers and an ambulance crew arrived about ten minutes later.
Witnesses had described how numerous police vehicles and an ambulance crew had attended the incident.
A woman, who asked not to be identified, said: “My son drove past and said he had seen a police van, two police cars and an ambulance with paramedics.
“He couldn’t fully see what was going on but it obviously looked like something serious. It looked as though they had cordoned off part of a field close to the road.”
