Paramedics and police were called to a property near Doncaster town centre this morning after reports of a sudden death.

Ambulance crews were unable to revive a 35-year-old man who is believed to have suffered an epileptic seizure.

Emergency services were called to the terraced house in Christ Church Road around 9am today.

A spokesman for Doncaster police said there was nothing suspicious about the man’s death and the case is being treated as a medical death.

The man’s body was later removed from the house and taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary for a post-mortem examination to be carried out next week.

A Christ Church Road resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I saw the police cars and ambulances turn up so I guessed it was something serious but I didn’t realise a man had died. There was a chap in a dressing gown talking to police so that might have been who found him.”
