THE Free Press can confirm the two candidates set to battle it out to become next Labour group leader on Doncaster Council.
Coun Glyn Jones or Coun Ros Jones are the pair heading the pack to take charge with a decision set to be announced at the party’s annual general meeting, part one, this afternoon at the Mansion House.
The official vote on who gets the job wil be taken a week later on May 16 - two days before the full council meets for the first time since the election.
Current leader, Coun Sandra Holland, announced before the election that she would be stepping down.
Labour had a fruitful time at the elections, gaining six seats meaning they now have over 50 councillors representing Doncaster wards.
