Police have named a four-year-old boy who died in a crash just before Christmas.
Dylan Blake Walker, of Dodsworth Street, Mexborough, suffered fatal injuries in the tragic smash between a car and lorry.
South Yorkshire Police say the tot’s family is too upset to talk this week.
The boy was in a white Mazda MX-5 travelling from Mexborough towards High Melton when it collided with an Iveco-Ford lorry on Melton Mill Lane at around 11.35am on Monday, December 23.
The car driver, a 51-year-old Doncaster man, suffered slight injuries and was treated at the scene.
A 49-year-old male lorry driver, also from Doncaster, escaped injury. Police, paramedics and the fire service were called to the accident scene.
Doncaster Council’s highways staff and police closed the road near to the entrance of Pastures Lodge on Doncaster Road.
It was also shut at Melton Mill Lane and Cadeby Road at its junction with Cadeby Lane but was reopened about three hours later.
