South Yorkshire Police said the 14-year-old was assaulted by a man at a bus stop in Urban Road, Hexthorpe, at around 8.25am on Tuesday, January, 31.

CCTV images have been released of a man police believe could hold vital information about the incident.

He was wearing a poncho type garment.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "It is reported that the 14-year-old boy was assaulted by a man at a bus stop in Urban Road, Hexthorpe.

"The boy suffered a minor head injury that did not require hospital treatment.

"A number of other children were at the bus stop at the time, but were not injured.

"Police believe the man pictured could hold vital information and want anyone who recognises him to get in touch."
