the body of a teenage boy found in a ditch will be formally identified today, police confirmed.
Police yesterday sealed off a huge area of farmland near Hungerhill School at Edenthorpe, after the body of a youngster was found in a ditch.
Police are linking the discovery to missing schoolboy Lewis Eddleston, 13, who was last seen half a mile from the scene on Sunday afternoon.
Lewis was last seen on fields between Kirk Sandall and Edenthorpe after telling his group of friends to look after his mobile phone while he went to the toilet.
Officers were called to Hungerhill Lane, Edenthorpe, yesterday morning after the discovery of the body.
Ambulance crews attempted resuscitation but were unsuccessful.
