Biker seriously injured in collision with lamppost

A MOTORCYCLIST has been left with serious injuries after he hit the kerb and was thrown from his bike into a lampost.

The 45-year-old man, from Doncaster, is believed to have swerved in the road and then hit the lamppost, causing it to break and smash into a parked car and the roof of a house.

He is being treated in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital for serious injuries to his arm.

The blue Skygo LF motorcycle was travelling along the A630 towards Rotherham at about 6pm on Sunday.

The man is believed to have been thrown from the bike and then hit the lamppost, with the bike then also hitting the lamppost.

If anyone witnessed the incident, they are urged to contact police on 101.
