A FUNERAL service for Isle builder Bert Brinkley was held at All Saints’ Church in Belton on Monday after he passed away last week.
The 71-year-old had lived in Westgate Road in Belton since moving to the Isle – but at three different addresses, living in the last one for more than 20 years.
He was born in Boston in Lincolnshire, but later married his wife Gwen, and moved to Louth.
At the time he was working as a steel erector on the steelworks, but eventually moved to the Isle, and set up his business about 40 years ago, going on to build properties in the Isle, Scunthorpe and Brigg.
He and his wife have two children; David, who went into the business, and his older sister Carisa, both of whom still live in Belton.
