THERE was no doubt people would be getting their full five pieces of fruit a day at a strawberry themed church afternoon.

People could indulge in their favourite strawberry treats at the Harworth Methodist Church in Waterslack Road, Bircotes, with a range of goodies from freshly picked fruit to berry filled jams and cakes.

Strawberries were not the only other treat on offer at the event, there were other fruity-based confections and cupcakes on sale throughout the proceedings.

Youngsters from the village as well as members of the Youth Activity Group who were benefiting from the proceeds of the afternoon popped in to enjoy some tasty treats.

The event took place at the peak of strawberries and cream season with Wimbledon taking place at the same time.
