Beauty queens Charlotte Lister and Ashleigh Harrison are all set for a real night on the tiles.
For the daring pair will be swapping glitz and glamour for sleeping rough to raise funds for young homeless people.
Charlotte, aged 26, the current Miss British Empire Sheffield, and Ashleigh, 24, the current Miss British Empire York, will bed down on the streets for one night only to raise cash for South Yorkshire charity Safe@Last.
The sleep-out will take place outside The Crown Hotel in Bawtry next week.
Charlotte and Ashleigh said: “We are spending the night in the shoes of those less fortunate than us and sleeping rough for the night.
“Hopefully, this will raise awareness and also raise vital funds for the charity so they can continue their amazing work with runaways and potential runaways in the South Yorkshire area.”
Charlotte, from Bentley, was crowned in the steel city last October after battling with a nasty chronic tension headache which she has suffered from for more than a year.
She said: “When I found out I’d won I couldn’t stop crying. It was such an emotional day. Basically I’ve had a headache for 13 months and it hasn’t gone away.
“It really knocked my confidence quite a lot.
“I decided the best way to get over things is to push myself forward and try to challenge myself.
“It’s amazing - knowing I’m still quite ill but showing people that anybody suffering from anything like depression or anxiety can put themselves out there and do well.”
Meanwhile, it will also be a test for Ashleigh, from Goole, who picked up her beauty queen sash in another regional heat last autumn.
It’s the latest charity event Charlotte, of Old Hall Road, has undertaken after previously organising photo shoots and fashions shows, hosting charitable events and, more recently, living off a food and drink budget of £1 per day for a week.
The duo are hoping to raise £250, and people can donate via text by sending SRCH70 £1 to 70070 or via the justgiving page at www.justgiving.com/Charlotte-Lister3
Safe@Last works with and on behalf of young people at risk of running away throughout the South Yorkshire area.
The organisation is the chosen charity of The Miss South Yorkshire Beauty Pageant, for which both Charlotte and Ashleigh are finalists.
The Miss South Yorkshire contest is an independent heat with the winner going on to represent the region in the final of Miss Galaxy UK in March.
The winner will also receive £500 cash and a trek to the Sahara if they are successful.
