Barnsley youth councillors from across the Dearne joined in a demonstration outside the House of Parliament calling for the right to vote at age 16.

Youth councillors Pegah Moulana, Thomas Yems and Chloe Briscoe – all too young to vote in national elections – joined more than 100 youngsters at the rally last week. They spent the day asking MP’s and peers why the voting age cannot be lowered from 18.

The event was organised by the British Youth Council.
