Big-hearted bank workers donned their gardening gloves and carried out volunteering work at Doncaster Deaf Trust.

Staff from Lombard, the asset finance arm of NatWest, visited the Leger Way establishment just before Christmas and helped to prepare gardening areas and completed maintenance tasks across the site.

Bobbie Roberts MBE, chair of trustees at the Trust, thanked the team for donating their time.

She added: “Our thanks go to all the team at Lombard who gave their time to help out with various challenges.

“They harvested fruit from our orchard, prepared a site within our quad area which is being turned into an African gazebo and generally helped out our maintenance team across the site.

“As a registered charity we are always grateful for donations and donations of time are always very well received.

“There is always plenty for teams to do to help to make our site more enjoyable for our children, pupils and students.”

Chris Mangle, of Lombard, added: “We had an enjoyable day at the Doncaster Deaf Trust and we were only too happy to carry out the various tasks we were assigned.

“The Trust carries out extremely valuable work and it was a pleasure to be able to play our part in helping out such an important local charity.”

The Trust provides education, training and care for deaf and hearing impaired people and those with learning difficulties.

Bobbie recently won the lifetime achievement award at the 2015 Doncaster Business Awards in recognition of nearly 40 years dedicated service to helping people with hearing difficulties in the town.
