A Doncaster-based band have made it to the finals of a competition to perform at the UK’s largest metal music festival after impressing judges with their energetic performances.

Dead Sense beat off competition from 48 other bands to earn a place in the final six of the competition - the winner of which will perform on the New Blood stage at Blood Stock Festival in Derby.

The band is made up of John Guest, Travis Speight, Wes Gill, Matthew Robertson and Kirk Towler.

The band, who practice every week in Thorne, will perform at the final at The Riverside bar in Selby on July 6.

John Guest, 24, of Oakmoor Road, Moorends said: “People have really supported us through this and we didn’t know how we’d get on so to be in the final is great.

“We’re looking forward to performing.”
