EVERYDAY they’re shuffling!

For the Doncaster Danum Scout Band is celebrating sailing through the marching ranks after gaining promotion to division two of the British Youth Band Association Championships.

The band’s ‘shuffle’ programme, which combines marching and playing instruments in time to music, has proved a huge hit during a host of tough competitions.

The group’s success during the The British Youth Band Association has now seen them move up a tier having secured promotion.

Now to meet the demands of tougher competition, the band is training as much as possible and rehearsals have been given a boost been from an unlikely source in Wheatley.

For the Ready Steady Store in Wheatley Hall Road has provided the team with practice facilities and offered a place for members to keep their musical instruments.

Jason Duffy, assistant store manager, said: “Congratulations to the Doncaster Danum Scout Band on their promotion and their success in 2011. They work so hard that the achievement is fully deserved.”
