ROBIN Hood Airport has received a police award for its work in making its passenger car park safe.
Bosses at the airport have received South Yorkshire Police’s Safer Parking Scheme award - an achievement they have managed to scoop ever year since the Finningley terminal opened.
The scheme was set up by the Association of Chief Police Officers to reduce crime and the fear of crime in parking areas. To achieve the accolade businesses must pass a police risk assessment.
Security measures covering the airport car park’s 400 spaces include CCTV and an automatic number plate recognition barrier.
