A writer is hoping that local people aren’t lost for words when he comes to Doncaster to get their views next week.

Author Peter Spafford is calling on residents of the Balby area to go along and chat to him with tales of hospital life for his latest project.

He wants people to head to Woodfield Park tea rooms to share their thoughts about the area and the local hospital.

He will be working at Woodfield Park, off Tickhill Road, on March 9, 11 and 13 and is wanting residents to go and chat to him with their memories of the area, St Catherine’s Hospital and Tickhill Road Hospital site as well as stories from the present day.

Peter will be walking around the site during the three days and will be in the Victorian Tea Room on Monday, March 9 between 10am and noon waiting to hear people’s tales. If you want to meet up with him on any of the dates please ring Flourish Enterprises on 01302 798000 and staff will put you in touch with Peter.

He will use some of the stories in future plays that he writes and he will be producing a play which will be performed at Woodfield Park later in the year.

Wendy Parkes, of Flourish Enterprises, a social enterprise which runs the tea room, said: “If you’ve a story you want to share why not come along and have a chat with Peter. He’s a lovely approachable guy who is looking forward to visiting us.”

For anyone who cannot make the tea room date they can ring 01302 798000 and staff will put them in touch with Peter.

Flourish Enterprises is made up of St Catherine’s House, a venue for events, conferencing and office rental; The Walled Garden, a small garden centre, and The Victorian Tea Room.
