Pupils from Isle schools are to take part in workshops run by a prolific chiildren’s author.
Tom Palmer, best known for his Football Academy and Foul Play series of books, is set to share his own great passion for books and reading through a love of football.
He will be visiting schools around the area including the Isle, and pupils from Belton, Althorpe and Keadby, and the South Axholme Academy, will take part in sessions at Glanford Park. Lucky pupils will be treated to a talk from Tom, take part in a quiz and penalty shoot-out and have the opportunity to have their books signed.
Players from Scunthorpe United will get involved in some of the action too.
Coun David Rose, cabinet member for Children’s Services at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “Events like this can make pupils really enthusiastic about reading and hopefully encourage them to develop their own writing skills.”
