A great grandfather is trying to get in touch with his former footballing friends after he dug out an old picture of his teammates.
Terry Williams, 72, was part of Denaby’s Balby Street School team which were beaten 4-3 by Conisbrough Morley Place School in the 1952 Totti Cup final.
Memories of the day were brought back after the retired lorry driver, who has six great-grandchildren, found a black and white picture of him and his cousin John Ackroyd, now 72, of Denaby, playing in the game.
Mr Williams, of St Mary’s Crescent, Swinton, would now like any of his former teammates to get in touch for a chat.
He said: “I was talking to John and we got onto to the subject of the game. I dug out the picture from some other old photos I have and it just got me thinking about what the lads have done since all those years ago. If anyone would like to get in touch then please do.”
