Appeal for responders

EPWORTH and Owston Ferry LIVES First responders are appealing for more volunteers.

In 2011 responders attended over 200 calls in the area, assisting the ambulance service in category A calls, usually reaching patients before paramedics.

People over 18 years with access to a car and a few spare hours each week are welcome to enquire.

Most calls usually take less than 30 minutes to respond to and no medical knowledge is required as full training is given by LIVES trainers.

Members meet for training on the third Thursday of every month at Epworth Baptist Church on Station Road, 7.30pm onwards

To volunteer or for more information log on to www.lives-responders or call Keith Drakes on 01427 875146.
