WINNER: Lindsay McGlone, 13, picked up a Sky Sports Living for Sports award from Olympian Darren Campbell after making a success of a project designed to boost the health and self confidence of teenagers that she put together on the back of her experiences of being bullied about her weight.

A DONCASTER teenager scooped a prestigious award after beating the bullies and embracing sport.

Lindsay McGlone travelled to Wembley Stadium where she met gold medallist sprinter Darren Campbell at the Sky Sports Living for Sports Awards.

The 13-year-old Balby Carr Community Sports and Science College pupil won the Yorkshire and Humber Student of the Year Award after making a success of a project designed to boost the health and self confidence of teenagers following her experience of being bullied.
