It’s that time of the year again when people from the Isle get all muddy as they tackle all manner of obstacles in a test of endurance for charity.
The 7 Lakes Extreme Challenge takes place on Saturday, May 24, at 11am, and organisers are hoping to at least match the 200 plus entrants taking part last year.
One of those competitors tackling the five-and-a-half mile fun packed cross country trial at 7 Lakes Country Park in Crowle was Crowle mayor Paul McCartan (pictured).
He said: “Last year was the first year this event took place and I was persuaded last minute to enter it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes it was wet and muddy and quite tough jumping over the giant bales of straw, but lots of fun and a good atmosphere. I would suggest anyone thinking of doing this to try and get a place as quick as they can. Probably best not to wear white.”
