A unique Dearne museum will stage its annual charity event next month to help hospitalised youngsters and their families.
Darfield Museum will open its doors from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on July 8 to support “Amy’s Room”; a charity that works to make life easier for parents and siblings of seriously ill children.
Fund raising at the Maurice Dobson Museum, that has its own tea-room, takes place each year on a Sunday. If it is good weather visitors can sit out on benches recently donated to the museum to enjoy strawberries and cream, cakes, and a raffle.
A cheque from the proceeds of the event will then be presented to representatives of the ‘Amy’s Room’ charity at the opening of the Annual Exhibition of Art, Craft and Memorabilia, which this year takes place on August 25 and 26 in Darfield Church Hall.
