Elderly residents on a Conisbrough estate claim they are being left stranded in their homes because of a lack of bus services.

Pensioners living on the Windmill Estate hit out at a phased reduction of services in recent years which means they now struggle to get out to the shops, doctors surgeries and to visit relatives.

The estate is served by just one bus two days a week and residents say some elderly people are too frail to walk 600 metres to the nearest stop on Doncaster Road. They want more services, but transport bosses appeared to have ruled it out.
