Two pensioners who were left stranded at the roadside when their day trip coach failed to turn up have told the SYT about their anger at the letdown.

Margaret and Roly Mills were left waiting outside Swinton’s Butcher’s Arms when their bus failed to materialise.

The couple had been waiting for a day trip bus to Bridlington organised by Wombwell Coaches, which has just gone bust.

Margaret, aged 71, said: “We’re really disappointed. We’d only been in their office two days before and had paid for another trip to Chester.

The couple were left £35 out of pocket by the day trip letdown.

“We’re pensioners, so that’s a lot of money,” Margaret said. “They knew the trips weren’t going to happen but they took our money anyway. It’s a disgrace.”
