ELECTRIC violinist Alexandra Parker is hoping to stage a charity concert to help raise funds for the MS Society.
The 23-year-old, who lives in Belton, had had a busy 2011 but she is making a concert - possibly at Scunthorpe’s Baths Hall - her number one target for 2012.
Alexandra has a personal reason behind raising awareness and funds for MS (Multiple Sclerosis) as her partner’s mother suffers from the disease.
MS is a chronic and often disabling disease which attacks the central nervous system and symptoms vary from one sufferer to the next.
“It’s a very difficult condition to deal with and she has had it for 11 years,” explained Alexandra. “The disease isn’t widely talked about and not many understand it.”
The former South Axholme School pupil is hoping to use her high profile to attract other acts to play at the Scunthorpe venue.
Alexandra - who has already appeared on both BBC and Sky TV - impressed judges on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent show last year.
She added: “I’d like to stage it around November but I won’t be the only performer. It’s in the very early stages but a couple of acts have already e-mailed me back.”
