Activities for all family at village galas

Two community galas in the same village made sure they had enough fun-filled activities on offer for all the family.

Woodlands was awash with summer fun as scores of pupils and parents flocked to Adwick Washington Infant School to enjoy its annual summer gala with indoor skittles, playground games as well as ice-cream and cakes to try.

Then just yards down the road, Outwood Academy Adwick pupils helped to stage its very own gala a few days later with brave visitors getting pied in the stocks. There was also a football competition held, as well as stalls and a funfair on offer around the site in Windmill Balk Lane.

Ann Lambert, learning resources manager at the academy, said: “All of our pupils worked really hard to get the gala ready.”
