FOLK in the Courier region went Children In Need mad last week raising money for the worthy cause.
The largest event in Goole saw nearly 2,000 people descend on the town centre at 2pm to try to break a world record for the largest chain of cuddly toys.
Despite falling short of the 2,623 target, the event raised £731 which was presented to the charity at Bridlington Spa on Friday night, and televised to the nation.
Chris Glen, director of AAT Mortgage Solutions on Boothferry Road which organised the record breaking attempt, said: "We got just under 2,000 people, it was a very good turnout but just not enough."
Among those who took part were pupils from Vermuyden, Kingsway and St Joseph's schools, as well as students from Goole College, council staff, and employees from local businesses, and residents.
"There were a lot of weird and wonderful toys and we had a visit from the original Pudsey Bear who came with the TV crew to film the event," added Chris.
"It was a fantastic day and we're glad we did it even though we didn't break the record."
And he thanked AAT's staff members Sonja and Rebecca for their help in organising the event, as well as the teachers who did a "fantastic job".
He added: "They really made it what it was, keeping the kids organised, and I hope it was an event they enjoyed and will remember."
