Abnormal loads to leave Goole Docks

DRIVERS are being warned to expect abnormal loads leaving Goole Docks over the next two months.
Tomorrow Collett Transport Limited is to start transporting wind turbines, manufactured by Nordex, for installation at the new A165 Lissett wind farm, near Hornsea.
Altogether, 12 wind turbines will be transported from Goole Docks in 84 journeys until January 2009.
Each turbine consists of seven pieces of up to 48m in length.
The agreed route is from Goole Docks: A161 Normandy Way, Anderson Road, Rawcliffe Road; M62-J36, M62 Eastbound; A63 Eastbound; A15 Humber Bridge Rdbt; A164 Northbound Jocks Lodge; A1079 Killingwoldgraves Rdbt; A1035 Dog Kennel Lane, Malton Road, Molescroft Rdbt, Driffield Rdbt, Beverley North Eastern Bypass, Swinemoor Lane Rdbt, Routh Village, White Cross Rdbt; A165, Beeford Village, Lissett Windfarm, near Hornsea.
An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesman said: "Each movement will be accompanied by a police escort and will be undertaken in pairs outside peak traffic hours to minimise disruption."
