it was last orders at lunch after a dinner lady retired after 27 years service.

Schoolchildren from Adwick Washington Infant School made sure Dian Stones got a good send off as she hung up her hair net and uniform after years of hard work.

Staff and pupils alike showered her with leaving cards and gifts incuding a coloruful boquet of flowers as they celebrated her last day at school.

A spokesman for the school said: “Dian has put so much hard work in over the years and she will be missed.”
