Bessacarr boy band sensation Louis Tomlinson had the worst possible preparation for his Doncaster Rovers debut - after limping off injured and then vomiting during a charity match.

The 21-year-old One Direction star hobbled off injured in a match at Celtic’s Parkhead Stadium in Glasgow yesterday after he was on the receiving end of a tackle by Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor.

The singer fell to the ground clutching his leg before eventually returning to his feet, but as he made his way off the pitch, to the sound of screams from thousands of 1D fans, he vomited in the full glare of TV cameras and press photographers at the game.

The tackle angered the star’s supporters who bombarded the Villa man with death threats on Twitter.

The match, in aid of former Bulgaria and Villa star Stiliyan Petrov, who has batteld leukaemia, comes just over a week before Louis makes his debut for Rovers in a Central League fixture against Scunthorpe United at the Keepmoat Stadium on September 18.

Earlier this summer, the star signed for Paul Dickov’s Championship side on non-contract terms as part of a fundraising drive for children’s hospice Bluebell Wood.

Tickets for the game are on sale 0844 3245590 with more than 1,500 sold already.
