Social housing repairs and maintenance contractor Willmott Dixon Partnerships has achieved national recognition for its collaborative working practices.

Willmott Dixon Group’s repairs specialist won the prestigious ‘Contractor of the Year’ award at the annual Housing Excellence Awards in Manchester.

The Housing Excellence Awards highlight and reward those who are leading the way in the social housing sector.

Judges were impressed by Willmott Dixon Partnerships’ close working relationship with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and other local contractors working with the organisation.

The company demonstrated commitment to collaborative working, community engagement, equal opportunities for all and working cooperatively with other contractors in the areas where service delivery is shared.

Willmott Dixon also provided examples of ways that it has added value and reduced costs for clients, without compromising on quality, customer care or productivity.

Willmott Dixon Partnerships is working with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to deliver a repairs service to 12,000 council-owned properties in the areas of Wentworth South, Wentworth Valley, Rother Valley West and Rother Valley South.

Willmott Dixon Partnerships managing director, Mick Williamson, said: “We are extremely honoured to have won this award, especially when competing against such a high standard of entries from other large national organisations. Willmott Dixon differentiates itself through the passion and commitment of its people in delivering exceptional levels of service to customers. Performance underpins everything that we do and we relish working in highly collaborative arrangements for the benefit of clients and customers.

“Business relationships are key at Willmott Dixon and we work hard to ensure we are not seen as just another contractor. We pride ourselves upon our ability to work cooperatively with all key stakeholders involved in a particular contract, and are committed to providing increased ‘Value for Money’ and improving quality of service, whilst being an integral part of the community.”

Housing editor Michelle McKenna added, “The Housing Excellence Awards are now in their ninth year and continue to act as a platform for celebrating the achievements of the brightest and the best of the sector. This year’s event was once again a great success with a fantastic turnout and a high calibre of entries. I would like to congratulate all of the winners for a job well done and to thank everyone who took the time to send in a nomination.”
