VIDEO: Nothing compares to these baby meerkats!

Bank Holiday visitors flocked to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park to catch a glimpse of the newest stars there – a litter of four meerkat pups.

At six weeks old the tiny babies are scuttling about the enclosure at the Doncaster animal centre, delighting the crowds with their antics.

They are the latest draw to a wonderful venture which also includes a walk-through lemur forest, a petting enclosure, wallabies that don't mind being stroked and an African Plains area which now features the endangered Addax Antelope.

The Park is also busy raising an estimated 150,000 to enable it to rescue lions from a zoo in Oredea, Romania.

John Minion, YWP's Animal Director visited the zoo in July after the call for help.

He told us the zoo is in a very poor state of repair and has Inexperienced staff to maintain animal husbandry levels. Romanian zoos now have to abide by European legislation which means that Oradea Zoo must address these issues.

The facilities are also poorly constructed and falling down in parts. There is a lack of money for food and repairs. There are also bears and wolves in poor conditions.
