Work to improve journeys on the M180 between Doncaster in South Yorkshire and Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire will begin on 1 August.
The £670,000 Highways Agency project, which will include resurfacing and renewing road-markings and studs, will be carried out overnight and require some full overnight carriageway and lane closures. It is expected to be completed by 23 August.
Highways Agency project sponsor Steven Wright said:
“This maintenance work will help keep the M180 operating safely and reliably.
“We are carrying the work out overnight when traffic flows are lower to minimise disruption, but some delays are expected and we would advise drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.”
The work will take place between 8pm and 6am. It will involve overnight carriageway closures in both directions between Junction 1 and Junction 3, with only one carriageway closed at a time in order to minimise delays. There will also be some overnight closures on the M180 entry slip roads at Junctions 2 and 3, and various overnight lane closures.
Local diversion routes will be clearly signed and advanced signing will be in place.
