Her time as a contestant on BBC’s The Voice may be over, but for York singer/songwriter, Beth McCarthy, life goes on.

She has accepted an invitation to appear in this year’s York Rocks Against Cancer Concert to be held at the Grand Opera House on Saturday 11 October.

Beth said “I am delighted to be invited to support such a great charity and really looking forward to the evening!”

The show will once again be hosted by Tony Audenshaw, better known as Emmerdale’s Bob Hope, also in the line-up will be Guilty Pleasures and Unit 8 with other local bands yet to be confirmed.

Julie Russell, General Manager of York Against Cancer said, “The feedback from last year’s York Rocks Against Cancer has been fantastic so when it was suggested we repeat the event I was delighted.

“I hope yet again the people of York will support YRAC; all of the money raised at this local event will be used to fund care, education and research projects here in the York area”.

Tickets, priced from £13 are now on sale at the theatre box office on Clifford Street York or on 0844 871 3024 or the York Against Cancer shop, North Moor Road, Huntington.
