Sheffield Theatres is proud to announce the Sheffield Sizzler – a brand new free event taking place on Friday June 3 in and around the Crucible Theatre.
The Sheffield Sizzler will begin at the venue in Tudor Square at 9pm and will showcase art forms such as dance, music, comedy, street acts and poetry from local artists including Hype Dance Group, Sheffield Hallam Capoeira Society, cabaret artist Madame Zucchini and French rapper Soulman. Taking place in a variety of areas in and around the venue, the event will use Crucible Corner, Tudor Square and the Crucible Theatre as unique performance spaces.
Sheffield is world famous for its grassroots arts scene and the Sheffield Sizzler will give audiences a taste of the best local talent within the city. The event is a fantastic chance for people, young and old, to support artists from within their local community and discover something new about the variety of arts on offer in the local area at the theatre.
Sheffield Theatres’ Creative Producer Andrew Loretto said ‘I’m thrilled that we are staging the first Sheffield Sizzler this June. This is a great chance for audiences to experience new artists and work that they may not normally get the chance to see. Similarly, it’s a wonderful opportunity for local performers from all across Sheffield to showcase their work to their local community. At Sheffield Theatres we’re keen to encourage and develop new work of all forms from up and coming artists and the Sizzler is a great platform for this. Audiences might even discover the next big thing at the event!’
The Sheffield Sizzler is free to all and will take place in and around Sheffield Theatres on Friday June 3 at 9pm, following the evening performances of Hobson’s Choice, Happy Days and The Jungle Book.
