Shoppers in for Christmas treats

SHOPPERS in the Frenchgate Centre can look forward to a host of Christmas activities and events during the festive season to keep every member of the family happy.

Santa Claus has already arrived at the centre and his Ice Mountain Grotto will remain open every day until Christmas Eve.

For the ultimate in cool, there will be four hours of live ice sculpting demonstrations on Saturday between 10am-2pm and the snow fairies will be in town on Saturday December 5 and 19 between 10am-3pm for free face-painting sessions.

Stilt-walkers and jugglers will be will be strutting their stuff and giving out free lucky dip bags for children to delve into this Saturday and there will also be live magic on December 12 and 19 between 11am-2pm.

If that wasn't enough, the fabulous High School Panto team will be at Frenchgate on December 21 for a trio of free 20 minute performances at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Dedicated Ladies' Days will take place on December 2, 9 and 16 between 10am and 5pm when there will be free pampering sessions, fashion styling and make-over demonstrations on stage while Sainsbury's will be holding festive taster sessions every Saturday in the run-up to Christmas between 3-4pm, so shoppers can sample some festive fare.

And of course Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without some carol-singing so Frenchgate has invited local primary schools to come and entertain shoppers on December 2, 3, 10, 11 and 15.
