Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire is reporting that its innovative 95 per cent mortgage incentives are enabling first-time buyers to purchase properties that they may have deemed to be out of reach.

Victoria Ryan and partner Edward Patching (pictured) began to house-hunt thinking that deposits would seriously limit them.

Now however, the young couple live in a three-bedroom semi-detached home which they bought at The Wickets site in Rotherham, thanks to the developer’s FirstBuy scheme.

Victoria said: “We came across Taylor Wimpey on the internet and went along to The Wickets development to find out more. We instantly knew this is where we wanted to buy.

“Other developments were tight in terms of space, but Taylor Wimpey’s designs were ideal. Just six months after buying what was essentially a mud plot, our home was complete and we were moving in.

“If it wasn’t for our ability to buy with a five per cent deposit, we would have struggled and would certainly never have managed to buy a home of the standard we have now.”

Help to Buy allows buyers to reserve homes up to £600,000 with five per cent deposit.

Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire sales and marketing director, Anne Bagshaw said: “FirstBuy helped numerous people to establish themselves on the property ladder and now with Help to Buy, we can extend this luxury to buyers looking for higher value homes.

“I would urge home-seekers in the area to come and have a look at the stunning site while a wide selection of homes and styles are still available.”

The Wickets features a range of two tofive bedroom homes with prices starting at £129,995.
