Punk icon visits Gainsborough's Trinity Arts Centre

EIGHTIES punk icon Hazel O'Connor is bringing the 10th anniversary celebration of her acclaimed ground-breaking theatre show Beyond Breaking Glass to Gainsborough's Trinity Arts Centre this Saturday (15th November).

Hazel takes us on an emotional journey, in words and music, from her childhood, through her early triumphs and tribulations right up to the present day.

Her candid and moving account details the highs and lows of a career that had her catapulted to stardom thanks to her starring role in the film Breaking Glass.

She became a punk star as a result of her performance as Kate, a fictitious rock star on whom the film was based.

The success of Breaking Glass didn't stop there; Hazel won a Variety Club award for Best Actress and two BAFTA nominations for Best Newcomer and Best Film Score.

So even if you've never heard of Hazel O'Connor, the show, the songs, the voice, the melody of Cormac De Barra's intuitive harp will touch your soul.

Hazel's humorous, and often poignant, autobiographical storytelling, will captivate you just as it has done countless theatre audiences worldwide.

This is a rare opportunity to see Hazel's touching autobiographical show, depicting her life story and her roller-coaster career through the medium of music and spoken word and featuring her classic songs Will You, Eighth Day and D-Days along with new classics such as Rebecca and Driftwood.

Join Hazel O'Connor on Saturday at 8pm. Tickets cost 12 and 10 for concessions and are available from the Trinity box office now on 01427 676655 or book online at www.trinityarts.co.uk
