Visitors to a wildlife haven are set to be enchanted by a special addition.
Sheffield’s Tropical Butterfly House in North Anston is offering visitors a day out with a difference as they host the annual Enchanted Fairy Forest.
The half-term holiday will see the centre’s woods transformed into the home of fairy villages and tiny pixie dwellings, with special guided tours throughout the day for guests. This year there is a new addition in the form of a 7ft tall dragon, which can be spotted among the trees and flowers.
Andrew Reeve, manager of the Tropical Butterfly House, said: “Enchanted Fairy Forest has been taking place for many years and is always a big hit with visitors.
“It’s great fun for the young and for the young at heart.”
The event coincides with Love Your Zoo week, during which members of the public are encouraged to visit their local zoo or aquarium and learn about the good work being done there.
Bird displays take place twice daily and feature owls, macaws, a raven and a seriema. Staff will be dressing up as good and bad fairies throughout half-term.
The Enchanted Fairy Forest event will be open from May 25 to June 2 from 10am to 5.30pm each day.
