A CASH sum towards a bumper Christmas for a deserving Wombwell group has been donated by a High Street store.

Staff at the revamped Wilkinson’s store presented local councillor, Denise Wilde, with a £150 cheque to support The Panda Club, that caters for children and young adults with learning difficulties, aged from 13 to 25.

Wilkinson’s manager at Wombwell, Sharon Cullingworth, and assistant store manager Sharon Jones met with councillors Denise Wilde, Margaret Morgan and Dick Wraith, along with representatives from The Panda Club and Barnsley Youth Service, for a short ceremony.

The donated sum will go towards a Christmas event and entertainment.

Wilkinson’s pride themselves on being a community focused retail group that supports local charities, community groups and care organisations, as well as donating to their national charity of the year, Age UK.
