One Direction hailed big hit in US

TEEN pop sensation One Direction have expanded their fanbase in dramatic fashion thanks to a successful trip to the states.

Doncaster singer Louis Tomlinson and his band mates look set to do what some artists spend their whole career trying to achieve by cracking America.

The boys, who formed just over a year ago, were in America to film an episode of popular series iCarly, and have already proved a hit with US fans.

The boys are now on their way back to Britain to prepare to promote their upcoming single One Thing, which is released on February 13.
