Singers and entertainers from Doncaster can tune up their vocal chords and hone their acts, as a popular town pub aims to find the district’s best.
Urban Bar and Lounge in Cleveland Street has launched its Pub Idol competition and one lucky winner could eventually claim a huge prize of £1,000 at a grand final in Sheffield.
Pub manager, Jan Roidl, said the venue was on the lookout for talented people to enter and added: “We would really appreciate it if as many people as possible entered this competition to find out the calibre of entertainer we have in the district. So if you think you can sing, then sing your way to £1,000.”
The Urban Bar and Lounge competition is in four heats. These will be held on Monday nights from 7.30pm on March 2, 9, 16 and 23. Two winners from each heat will be chosen to go through to our own grand final which is being held on Monday, March 30, at the Cleveland Street bar from 7.30pm.
Jan added: “The two winning entertainers from each Urban Lounge heat will go through to make up eight contestants in our own final.
“There will then be an act off between all those making it through the Urban Lounge heats and one lucky winner goes through to the grand final on April 19 at the Viper Rooms in Sheffield to compete against people from across South Yorkshire.”
Anyone with talent can enter Urban Pub Idol. Entries are open to anyone over 16-years-old. To register an interest call in and see the staff at 38-40 Cleveland Street for more details or inbox them on Facebook at Urban Bar – email firstname.lastname@example.org or inbox Jan on Facebook Urban Bar.
