A ‘hot’ musical starring Birds of a Feather actress Lesley Joseph is stopping off in Doncaster on a flying visit.
Hot Flush! – billed as ‘the naughtiest musical in town’ - will be at Doncaster Dome for one night only on April 4 next year.
Lesley Joseph, who played serial adulterer and man-eater Dorien Green in the BBC comedy series Birds of a Feather, will lead the cast in the role of Myra. The actress, who has also appeared in numerous West End and touring productions, plays a successful barrister whose husband leaves her for a ‘bimbo’.
Dubbed ‘the menopausal musical’ and described by critics as ‘Sex and the City with HRT’, Hot Flush! also features characters including bored housewife Sylvia, lonely Helen - a widow with empty nest syndrome - and wealthy Jessica who’s dealing with a mid-life crisis of her own.
Andrew O’Grady, events manager at Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust, said: “This is a really fun show packed full of comical songs and a light-hearted take on life and love.
“Musicals always get a great reception from South Yorkshire audiences. The Dome has enjoyed ‘Annie’ and ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ in the past and is also proud to be playing host to the multi-award winning Blood Brothers in March next year, just a month before Hot Flush! arrives in town.”
Tickets are currently on sale at £20. Hospitality and best seat packages are also available, as well as group rate tickets for parties of ten or more.
